Photography

I got my first camera, a Minolta, when I was a junior in high school. I had no idea what I was doing but knew I loved it. It was a toss up whether to study photography or design at UMASS Dartmouth, basically I ended up taking enough credits for practically a second degree. I’ve had gallery and coffee shop showings of my photos, had photos published in coffee table books and had my photos used for many album design covers. And now, a camera in the palm of my hand at all times? Awesome.

PINHOLE CAMERA PHOTOGRAPHY

The camera obscura or pinhole image is a natural optical phenomenon. A simple camera without a lens but with a tiny pin hole in one side. Light from a scene passes through and projects an inverted image on the opposite side of the box, creating the effect.

PUBLISHED PHOTOGRAPHY

As an image maker, I have been tasked to shoot photos for many design projects. I also have a deep catalog of personal work that has been used in album designs. Most recently I had some work published in a coffee table book.

PHOTO SHOOTS

My photography skills have come in more than handy in several positions I’ve held. Shooting events including Pizza Festivals and College Football games.

35 MM FILM PHOTOGRAPHY

I’ve spent many hours in the dark room back in the day. Printing at NESOP in Boston, to building my own space. Several of these photos have been featured in books and album projects.

DIGITAL COLOR PHOTOGRAPHY

Since everything pretty much went digital, I have not held back. I take photos of everything whether with my phone or one of many digital cameras I own. My first was a LEICA and still kind of my favorite even with the low megapixel results. Capturing an image means capturing a memory, and to me, that’s what life is about.
